Boca Grande is a small village located on Gasparilla Island. There are a few inns, as well as some houses and condos for rent.
The “high season” goes from November through April, but I’ve found that places book up quickly into June. May is tarpon fishing season in the area, so be sure to book your accommodations well in advance. Though there are some additional budget-friendly places to stay off island, I highly recommend staying on island for the most relaxing experience.
We will be staying in a house near the main part of town. There are lots of houses and condos for rent near the mid-island lighthouse, the beach, and the walking trails. The condos at the north and south ends of the island are lovely, but can feel a bit remote compared to the central parts of the island.
If you are planning to primarily use bikes and/or golf carts to get around, I’d recommend staying somewhere between 30th Street to the north and South Harbor Drive to the south.
Here are the recommendations we have for places to stay:
- The Innlet – https://theinnlet.com – This charming inn is run by the Gasparilla Inn, but it’s a bit less expensive. It’s right on the bayou, has great amenities, and is close to town. Bonus – check out the attached diner called The Outlet for breakfast or lunch one day.
- Parsley-Baldwin Realty – https://rentals.pbgrande.com/ – If you are looking for a house or condo, start with this company that’s been around for over thirty years.
- The Gasparilla Inn and Club – https://the-gasparilla-inn.com – This place is gorgeous, Old Florida luxury. Even if you don’t want to splurge on a stay here, make sure you stop by for a meal, a drink, or to visit one of the two adorable gift shops.
- Air BnB and VRBO by far have the most rental listings available, if you are comfortable using these services.
